...for a newb.

First time kegging:

I set to 40psi for 24 hours (then degassed), then 20psi for 24 hours (then degassed). Let it sit for 3 hours at 11psi.

Setup: 3 gallon keg, 5ft 3/16 hose, picnik tap (pouring at the height of the top of the keg).

The research i've done says that my setup is balanced pouring around 10-11psi, but i'm getting a cup of foam (testing with cider), that quickly turns to liquid in seconds. What am i doing wrong?

Liquid was at 44 degrees, but i am moving it down to around 37 to see if that helps.

Thanks

Hi-
Im kind of a newb too, but it sounds like itah be over-carbonated.
That happened to me with a faulty regulator. Try setting the psi to 10 and plugging the gas in to the liqued out. After you hear the bubbles stop purge the air... Do this a few times then reconnect and try. It worked for me.
Good luck.
