The basic kit isn't fine in my opinion. When I started kegging, I bought a complete 2 tap kegerator setup, thinking that the seller would know what I needed better than I would. WRONG.

The first thing I changed were the beer lines. You should have at least 10 ft per line of 3/16" ID tubing.

Second the taps kept sticking. So I switched to Perlicks. You can buy them cheaper at http://www.ritebrew.com/category-s/1909.htm.

Then there were the kegs. I bought used kegs that leaked at the posts and I couldn't find replacement parts for them. I had to fabricate the parts myself. I still use the old kegs, but have since bought new, unused kegs. I like them better.

There are plenty of threads on this forum about kegging setups that you should read. That way you can determine what's best for you.

you defiantly get what you pay for in home brewing, if you want something to last and don't want to buy it twice, go with reviews and not cheap as you can get, the cheap taps do stick when not used frequently, almost feels like your going to break it busting it lose

the sets are ok for starting out but make sure you measure once and read lots of reviews from home brew people not online stores

I would check Keg Connection, this is where i bought my equipment. You could get a Taprite dual body regulator and a new 5# co2 tank along with everything else you are looking at for $335 and delivery is a flat $7.99. Great service

Sorry I didn't realize you were in Canada. I imagine shipping would be more.

Yeah, ordering from the US is not a good idea (tax, shipping, low CAD $).
Also dont forget that the prices on the webpage are in CAD not US.

That's a great starter IMO. If I were to go back I would upgrade to the SS Perlicks from the get-go. No stuck faucets.

Nothing wrong with used ball locks. They say reconditioned with new seals etc. my kegs are 30 years old.
I would also upgrade the faucets and get double the lengths of beer line.

I would for sure not go with the converted pin locks. Buddy has them and they never seal up.
