I'm doing my due diligence on building my home keezer based pub, and and looking at the temp controllers. Not overly concerned about price, but would like to keep it under $100, as i'm just running the freezer and not fermenting. Most of the controllers have an awkward mounting either on front or on the side, and the inkwell controllers have a better design with a cord for the plugs away from the main unit. I'm concerned that they are the least expensive, and more importantly that while they are rated for lots of watts depending on the unit, they are only rated for ten amps. I worry that the freezer compressor kicking on and off will trip the ten amps and I will have no way to know.
Who's got one of these inkwells hooked to a chest freezer, and has there been any issues with the 10 amp limit? I would have thought a 20 amp unit would be safer...
