when you guys are running your keezer through the ebay controller, are you wiring it direct or just wiring an outlet to the controller and plugging the freezer into that. I like the look of the controller mounted in the collar but I am not sure if you are running the freezer plug back in through the collar or attaching an outlet to the back of the collar and plugging the freezer in or what. I THINK I would just run long wires and mount an outlet to the back of the collar but not sure.

I hardwired it. It is easy just follow the wire from the dial control and the 2 power wires and switch them out for your controller wires. I was luck that my used chest freezer had the wiring diagram still intact.

I extended the wires so I could mount the controller on the collar.

I ran long wires and placed a single gang outlet box inside the compressor area. The freezer plugs into the outlet switched by the controller, and my rope lights plug into the other which is controlled by a toggle switch. I keep meaning to install a muffin fan on one end of the tower to circulate air, and when I do I'll probably hardwire it to the incoming power. If it hadn't been for the lights, I may very well have hardwired the freezer.
