So, I'm working on finishing my keezer. I would like to put the faucets pretty high on my collar so I have room for kegs and possibly some bottle storage in the freezer. Is there any downside to putting them high on the collar? It's just a standard chest freezer with a 10" collar, so they aren't going to be super high.

Thanks for the help,

When the freezer top is closed be sure there isn't an overhang that could interfere with the tap handles. Also leave enough material to not make the collar weak on the top side.

I don't see any problem, as long as you keep enough wood for strength. You could go with a 2x12 if you want. Add a layer of pink board inside. Make sure your beer lines are long enough.

Beer on!
