I live 40 miles east of KC and looking for a place to buy supplies.I always buy extract kits and hardware online. I have decided to jump to all grain. After doing a little online grain shopping, i realize shipping is just insane for bulk grains. Any of you KC brewers have a local connection for bulk grains, and general supplies?

Apex Brew Wares! Its in Independence on Noland Rd. The owner, Jeremy, is a great guy and very knowledgeable. I was just in there today and picked some stuff up. I live about 60 miles southeast of KC, and if I have to order something from him, its on my porch the next day! I highly recommend shopping there!

EDIT: Here's his website, www.apexbrewwares.com

Thanks Blueline!! I work in Independence so that is awesome. I only knew of eckraus, and they are a bit on the pricey side.

Just FYI if you know about a homebrew store and it is not listed on the AHA site or BeerAdvocate, I would recommend putting it on both sites. It makes it much easier for people to find homebrew stores and will undoubtedly help their business.

Call some small breweries in KC. I get my 50lb bags of 2-Row from Tallgrass Brewing Company for $40!
