<EDIT>Scroll down to post #5 for my re-introduction. Been gone so long, it seemed necessary.</EDIT>

Hello all. Long time lurker, first time poster. Don't even have a question at the moment as I've found most of my answers using the search... Getting back into home brewing after about a 10 year hiatus... on my third batch now and have already sunk more money into it that the wife knows about... heh.

Through my job, I get to travel fairly regularly to the Caribbean / Central America and have several colleagues who regularly bring me beer / cigars when they visit the States. I have a real fondness for Caribbean and Mexican beers. My favorite is Balashi, from Aruba. It is definitely patterned after Heineken. Carib is a lager from Trinidad that is a good beer as well. And - I'll probably catch some flack for this – I like Corona. There, I said it.

That's all for now...

Welcome. Sounds like you are a fan of straight forward, clean and simple adjunct lagers. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing better on a hot summer day, or a cold winter day or a foggy fall day or a rainy spring day or a not so ho but not really cool summer day or ...

John, welcome to the forums. Your intro make me thing of Bod and Tom's Mr. Obvious lol good show.

Pastor, consider your thoughts on "straight forward, clean and simple adjunct lagers" keifed and inserted in my sig.

Figured I should re-introduce myself after I mysteriously disappeared. Last two months have been hell at work and I've had no time after work for anything other than to play with the kids then pass out - all to just do it again the next day.

Things are finally calming back down and I've really got the itch to start brewing again. Before my hiatus, I was able to brew the first two attempts of my "Damned Lager"... been sitting in the cooler at 35 degrees for a little over two months now. Going to try to bottle it sometime this weekend.

Oh, speaking of the cooler, it's doing great - holding steady at 35 degrees without a single problem.

I was thinking that you walked into the cooler and forgot to walk out!

Welcome back, John! I saw BP in BYO the other day and was wondering when your article was coming out, then was wondering where the hell you had been...
