I'm not sure exactly how old the kit is so I am just wondering how long the kit can sit and still be good.

Vintner's Reserve Pinot Noir Superior Quality Wine Kit - 2005 Silver Medal (makes me guess that it is pretty old...) 2 Gallon kit

It has not been opened. Thanks for the help!

I don't know but I would open and see if the juice has oxidised and check the best before date on the yeast. If the juice is still good than you can always supply your own yeast

I have often made kits that are two to three years old with no bad results. You will however have to supply some of the ingredients that are included with the kits as the ones that are in there have expired such as yeast, and potassium metabisulfite and potassium sorbate.

Winexpert kits usually have a barcode on the top that contains the name of the kit and some numbers... any chance you can take a pic of that and upload it? The # usually contains the date the kit was created. :)

I think based on the code it's the 33 rd day of 2006

Yup. My guess as well! Still, if the juice is not gone bad...

You will want to replace everything else though. Oak, yeast, and kmeta, etc.

Let us know what you end up doing. I would love to know how this one go's. :)
