just bottled frist beer

well i just finshed bottling my frist beer... now out of a 5 gallon batch i only ended up with 42 bottles.... now is that normal to lose that much liquid from boiling up the batch of wort to primary to secondary to bottling?

You lose a quantity of beer when you transfer over to your bottling bucket (or any other transfer) which depending on how much you left at the bottom of your fermenter or secondary may account for most of that loss. I usually make an extra 1/2 gal - gal to account for that.

well from now on i wont be bottling beer.. it takes way to damn long to clean and sterlize bottles and then fill them.. i just goign to get a couple 5g kegs and just keg from now on
