I'm doing a cherry cider: 2 gallons apple juice and 1 quart tart cherry juice. I took a gravity reading and can barely tell there's cherry. When I bottle would priming with more cherry juice increase the cherry flavor? How much?

good timing.

i have a batch of my very cherry cider going right now.

i split it up into minikegs to vary the dryness. / flavoring

but yes i find the only way to get real good fruit flavor post fermentaion is by backsweetening with fruit tinctures or syrups.

you need something very concentrated.

pure dark cherry juice works well (it usually still needs a little added sugar for my taste. i use about a 1/4 of a cup of table sugar in 2 cups of 100% dark cherry juice per keg)

knudsons works well

or depit and chop a dozen cherrys. then muddle in a cup of everclear and let sit for a week. strain and add 1/2 cup of 1:1 sugar water syrup

add that to the keg.

or try a cherry flavoring ( i havent had good luck with these.)

in a pinch a half bottle of grenadine works great to back sweeten and flavor and color a dry cider.
