Hey I'm John, just opened my kit today. It's a NB deluxe kit, got 2 brews american wheat and Irish stout. Gonna brew the americian first as a learning experience. Really looking forward to my first brew. I know clean is the main thing. Any other suggestions? Tips? Brewing next weekend taking my time, trying to do it right.

Brew them up and drink some good commercial brew in the meantime so as not to rush the natural process. Your brew will be fine and wants to be beer.
Welcome to the obsession!

Search "swamp coolers" and keep the fermentation temperatures in the low to mid sixties. Then do not rush things. You can leave the beer in primary for 3-4 weeks then bottle them for at least 2 weeks. If you follow the directions you will get a very good beer

Welcome to the obsession.

I'd recommend brewing one, then buying another fermenter, and brew the other one in a couple weeks. When your first batch is out of the fermenter and in the bottles, you'll be able to brew another batch, while still having one in a fermenter. Doing it that way will insure that you always have beer to drink. :)

The first time you do it, it's going to take forever, and you will probably think you did something wrong, but fear not. We have all been there. The more you do it, the better your process will get. It's a hobby and meant to be fun, so remember to enjoy yourself while you are doing it. Congrats on getting into this wonderful hobby, and say goodbye to all your disposable income :mug:

swmbo has already ok'ed getting more supplies. need to have a few batches going..... keeping it in a closet.... 65-70 usually..... new but studying..... planning on getting a few more fermenters. got the "ok" from the SO :)

no, as much as i want to brew this weekend, i'm not...... taking my time, studying and taking notes..... i want to do it right......

Try to keep your fermentation in the 60's for ales. Also, most of the time is waiting, so get it brewed ASAP. Its hard, but you have to wait for the gestation period, LOL.

On edit, I have a few jeeps also. That is my EXPENSIVE hobby.
