The Chicken City Ale Raisers are based around Gainesville, Georgia. We have members who stretch from Dawsonville to Decatur. We are actively seeking to expand and looking for new members. Whether you've been brewing for 30 days or 30 years we are happy to have you.
We were founded in 1992 and many of the original members are still active in the club today. The club founder is now a professional brewer with Left Nut Brewery and we have a wealth of other experienced brewers and BJCP certified members. We meet on the second Monday of every month rotating around to different members' houses. Club meetings involve organizing club events, an educational presentation by the host, and tasting/evaluating homebrew of course! Annual events include:

- National Homebrew Day big brew - the club buys the ingredients, we meet up in May and brews 50+ gallons of wort and dump it all into a big fermenter. The beer is then sold back to club members at cost or less.
- Teach a friend to homebrew day in November - members of the club brings their systems to Left Nut Brewery in Gainesville for a homebrewing demonstration and we also prepare and sell BBQ to the attendees
- Sausage making - The club buys ingredients for kielbasa and bratwurst, a few volunteers make sausages and smoke them and sell them back to club members at cost. They are also served at the Oktoberfest celebration in late September
- Oktoberfest Celebration/Club Competition - Several club members brew a keg of beer (usually Oktoberfest style) and we have a big party. Family and friends invited of course! Homemade sausage is served, lawn games are played, and theres always beer to go around.
- Annual pub crawl - Interested members organize transportation and lodging for a club pub crawl to Decatur or Asheville, NC
