Johnson Temp Control Dangerous?

Ok, I just got a Johnson Temp Control and the first thing to strike my attention are these warnings. Maybe i am just overreacting just because this is a piece of equipment i am not familiar with. Like a toaster oven would say "improper use can result in death", obviously i know this would only occur if i was craving some toast while in the bath tub, However to see warning like "may lead to severe injury or death" on this product makes me slightly nervous. As well as compliance warnings such as " Operation of this equipment in a residential area is likely to cause harmful interference, in which case the user will be required to correct the interference at his/her own expense." Are these just simple precautions the manufacturer takes to avoid law suit and is really not big deal, or should i really consider these warnings. I am not familiar at all with temp controllers so this is all new to me. Should i be worried? Or no sweat?

They are boilerplate warnings that a team of legal experts decided was necessary to avoid lawsuits.

I mean think about it, they sell you a controller and part of using it requires you to manually wire up electrical connections to a 110V AC power source. OF COURSE there are warnings.

Reminds me of the warning tag I found on a new air mattress I bought last summer. IIRC, it said, "Not for human consumption". WTF, did they think I was gonna eat the damn thing or what?

It is against fcc regulations to cause interference, So if you was to put it where it caused interference with the neighbors tv, a ham radio operation, tv stations, commercial radio stations you are required to fix it. That usually entails a visit to a radio shack for a filter of some sort. It pretty much is a standard warning on anything electrical.

Oh and I wouldn't worry too much about it. UNLESS you see an unmarked van with weird antennas parked nearby or some nerdy types with what look to be small handheld antennas roaming the neighborhood pointing them at everything

maybe they knew you were going to use it on a keezer, hence the need to warn you that having a keezer could cause "harmful interference" (with SWMBO) if you spend too much time in the basement drinking beer without her.
