So those of you who went, how was the collaboration beer w/ SP and Off Color? Honest opinions, no homerism please.
For a farmhouse ale, I thought it was light and crushable. Perfect for summer, fruit juice stood out on the glass I had.

However since it's only 1/3rd Side Project and no bottle limit, not worth buying.

I'm going after work today, so I'll let ya know. ;)
I'll be there from 4 until about 6:30-7, so I'LL LET YOU KNOW :p

I'll try to remember to check my phone but pm me or look for me. Blue Church Works t shirt, tan shorts, one large black tattoo on calf and shin should give it away.

That goes for any of you other lurker a that may happen to be there, come say hi. I'm only partially as big as an ******* as I appear to be online.

Got here a little bit ago... SUPER bummed there's no Zwanze glasses for sale. "Maybe" next week.

****. Mah complete glass collection will be in shambles...

Yea I was curious as to the loon pricing and bottle sizes

guess I should have clarified

First off, Side Project stole the show. Derivation was insane!

86 Framboise - glad I got a chance to try it.

Grand Cru was $23
Kriek was $20 - bottle I bought
Classics was $20 IIRC

Intersection was too soft. Hoping it will funk up over time.

Dampf was better than I expected. For me, it was the better of the two.

Didn't get it at Zwanze but I thought Dampf was overly spicey. If I want that much spice I'll get a chile beer or a young Rye whisky.

Interesting...
There's nothing in the beer to give it that flavor. Just water barley, oats, hops, yeast, and bacteria.

hops, yeast, and bacteria

I know it wasn't actually chile. It gave me the impression of chile. Like when you call a rye whisky "spicy." I think that some combination of the bacteria/yeast and hops really hit me the wrong way.

So I have a friend who got the Zwanze email on the third round. She is going with a friend but looking to meet dudes at the share. She is stressing the bottles she has to bring as she wants to 1) not be embarrassed (told her don't be silly) and 2) attract said dudes with her beers as she isn't super self confident. Should I send her with some cellar bottles or tell her to chill? For reference she has Trillium and OEC.
I need some denouement here. How did your ladyfriend fare at the Zwanze bottle share?

She had a blast. It might be better to say her beer world was reset. She had no idea that there were levels out there that she reached at the share. She was there pretty late. 11 I think. And when I saw her the next morning she wasn't sure if she was drunk or still adjusting to the realization that the world of beer was like that.

I walked around looking for a female carrying OEC and trill-stead bottles.

Does anyone know if Jester King has the Intersection of Species glasses/tshirts available at the brewery? I know they posted the images in the blog post, but I've been checking the online shop and haven't seen them.

Hey Mike, they were selling them at the brewery about a week ago when I was there. If I had known, I would have grabbed them for you. Hopefully someone local can help you out.

Generally they'll sell at the brewery for a few weeks and then put anything they have left on the website.

So that del rey......

What is 9000 bottles in relation to a normal Jester King bottle release? More since its a blend? Im thinking this is the fire I needed to have set under my ass to get in gear and do a trade for a box of assorted JK goodies.

Also, im wondering if this is what was pouring this week in Philly during the craft brewers conference.

Not sure if del rey is on the menu for CBC, but this definitely is:

9000 bottles is a big release for them. For perspective, their fruited sours are anywhere from 1000-2000 bottles typically.

Ok. I may have to drive out to JK for that Del Rey. Last time I visited was during the first release of Montmorency vs Balaton...

I doubt it. It was brewed at JK so it can only see the normal distro that JK usually sees. Fantome released their own version that was brewed in Belgium, about a year ago? It's been a while.

Damn, guess I'll have to ISO it up. Thanks for the info

I believe 9000 bottles is same size batch as the most recent nocturn as well.

Yes, more bottles since it was biere de coupage (old barrel-aged beer / young beer blend).
