did you bother reading?
I posted without reading, whoopsie.

It's so Fantome that this happened to the beer tho. It actually makes Jester King MORE legit in my mind. Cheers, jeffstuffingsjk and thanks for pushing things to their limit. I know it's a bad situation, but at least with pedio, it's gonna clean up.

Garrett aka "The Kenny Loggins of Saison's" must be proud...

The problem is that straight up gin ass gin isn't barrel aged (like, say, almost all whiskey). There's just not enough going around I hear.

Did they straight up use Fantome yeast/bugs?

Im literally gonna buy more now because apparently this beer is such a perfect Fantome clone that it's gone sick, lol. Give it 6 months in the cellar and it will be fine...

If you want to know what this looks like, here's a video I made a few years back with loveable beer ******* John Rubio. Fantome Hiver pedio infection:

Lol John has such a love/hate relationship with tomes. Mike too. It was a chore to even get him to try x-sour.

did you guys culture the yeast from the fantome release and blend it with your house strain for this specific beer?
if so...should we expect the sick phase from the pedio...because das dat tome life?

Seriously, are you a psychic? Not Viking Metal but Gin Barrel Nocturn just announced for Memorial day...

Sherry Barrel Atrial Rubicite was announced one day before its release, was about 1,000 bottles, and was released at noon on a Friday, a work day for most people.

Gin Barrel Nocturn Chrysalis was announced four days before its release, is about half as many bottles, and will be released at noon on Memorial Day, a holiday for most people.

I'll be there, but I'm really not looking forward to the clusterfuck.

Only thing working in it's favor is its not Atrial and gin barrels probably have a narrower audience to appeal to, but ya **** show coming...

Seriously wonder about this. It makes zero sense to me. Did they expect a sparse crowd and just say "screw it?" I don't even think I can go on that day because of family stuff but it's like JK does something really great for their loyal customers (open bathrooms) then something silly (like this). Even if they have a cash line and 2 iPads this is going to be a mess. The least they could do is allow bottles in lines instead of their random dropping their prohibition of shares (like on Zwanze).

This is sort of one of those damned if you do, damned if you don't sorts of things. They gave their customers about 4 days notice to plan to come by on a holiday (yay). Now all the other customers who aren't me or my friends that I don't want to deal with will be there (boo).

Either way you either have locals who feel entitled to go and get their bottles without a hassle, or entitled people around the state (and Oklahoma) who feel entitled to have enough notice make plans to drive out.

All that said, bottle sharing would be nice. That said...I'm 100% ignorant of TABC's regulations on that subject.

JK used to allow them regularly until it started to get out of hand. Per a JK employee, one of the final straws was the guy who assumed since his friends could bring bottles for a share, he could bring his own 30pk.

Why dont you just enjoy the holiday with your family and friends and not worry about the logistics of planning to wait in line for a beer release?

You might just be in luck, depending on the weather. It's been **** these past few days. Maybe the storms will keep some peeps at bay.

There's only one important question here: Did he finish the 30 pack?

Sounds like a failure on his friends' part to let the fella know about some etiquette.
The bottle shares of 2013/2014 for the most part were nice, however very few people stayed to help clean up. At one of the last ones, I was there until almost 11 PM helping out. The bottle share was a privilege, and other people took it for granted (intentionally or not).

If it was a morning share, I think it could go well. Allow bottles from 10-11:30 AM, no more opening after 11:30, all bottles discarded at noon opening, no questions, like Freetail.
Jester King has enough regulars that would go for it that it wouldn't be too hard to give a few people clean up duty. I share a car, so am not locked in to being there from 10 to noon, but I'd volunteer to clean up if I am there at noon.

Either way, it seems like JK is always trying to improve releases and preserve the experience they wish to share with visitors. I have no doubt this low count/limit release and the next will improve upon the prior.

I heartly endorse this. Both on the share and on JK's sincere improvements.
