Japonicus or Lupulus?

Hi Everyone !

Any idea if those guys are Lupulus or Japonicus?

They're Humulus japonicus. You cant really wait for cones to determine what they are since Humulus japonicus develop cones as well.
 
Revron, how can you make a difference between Lupulus and Japonicus?

The only trick I knew was that Japonicus has between 5 and 7 lobes and that Lupulus 3 and 5.

These ones have 5 lobes. What make you think that they are Japonicus? :D
 
Lupulus can also have single-lobed leaves. I'm looking mainly at the depth of the lobes, the length of the leaf stems and the spacing of the leaves on the bine. None of these match any of the 25 varieties I've seen. On the other hand, there's about 300 varieties I haven't seen.
