Jaded immersion chillers

I currently brew on a pretty small scale (2 gallons), but I am considering getting an immersion chiller from jaded brewing. I was just wondering if this is worth it? I am mainly curious as I may step up batch sizes down the road, but would like an efficient immersion chiller now if I can get one for my small batches.

Also, does pumping cold water through the chiller work well when the tap water isn't very cold like during the summer months?

I don't do small batch but I do use a Jaded Hydra chiller it works great as long as the ground water temps are in the 60's. I do wish I had a second one to use as a prechiller for use during the summer when the ground water temps are in the 80's. I currently use 15ft of 3/8 copper in a cooler full of ice water for a prechiller. I've tried pumping ice water through the chiller once the wort got down to the 90's, but I've found it easier and just as efficient to use a prechiller.

If I can get the in incoming water to the hydra in the mid 60s, I can chill 5gals in 15 min and 10gals in 25min.

I have the Hydra and love it but you might want to check out their King Cobra chiller. It has the same amount of copper for heat exchange but it is flatter than the Hydra. That way if you only have a small amount of wort to chill, most of the chiller is still in contact with the wort.

I was looking at the wasp or chinchilla? Does anyone have experience with these?

I have the wasp. I started small and it was great. I wish I went larger now doing 5 gal batches. I'll move to the hydra soon. Takes me about 25 min.
