I am brewing a Blonde ale it has been sitting for 5 days and I wasn't sure if it was fermenting because i didnt see any bubbles. I read on here to take a gravity reading and its at 1.012 which is the final gravity I got from beertools. My original gravity was supposed to be 1.049 but it was actually 1.043. What do I do is it done now or can i let it ferment for another week or so which is what i was planning on or will that mess up the brew?

Give it at least another week on the yeast. Two would be better. Don't assume that just one reading that's around where the FG should be means it's at the actual FG. It could be, but it could still drop more.

BEFORE you bottle it, taste a sample. If you have any off flavors, let it sit on the yeast for more time. There's absolutely nothing wrong with having a brew sit on the yeast for several weeks, or even months. With the lower OG you have, I would give it until 3 weeks from when fermentation actually kicked off (not from when you pitched the yeast) before thinking about bottling it. Take another SG reading then, and taste the sample. IF it tastes really good with zero off flavors, then prime and bottle it. If you get anything that's off, leave it another week and try it again...

Patience with your brew, and yeasties, will be rewarded with much better home brew to enjoy.

Thanks for the help, thats what I was thinking but I wanted to ask the experts what they thought. Also I did smell and taste the sample I took, It smelled and tasted really good but it had a very fizzy smell to it and also tasted a little bitter and really carbonated too like it almost made you cough.
