I started homebrewing back in April and have been interested in making mead for a while now. My wife has been helping me brew and started to show some interest in making wine. Yesterday I came into possesion of 5 gallons of honey and after a trip to the grocery store to get some bread yeast we made JOAM. Today I went to the LHBS and got some yeast and yeast nutrients so we made up 5 more gallons of mead.
Starting from the left we have the JOAM, a cyser, a pinapple melomel, A slightly modified version of MOAM, a pyment, and a traditional mead.
The JOAM recipe was followed completely. The MOAM was modified slightly in that we didnt heat the honey and we put all the spices into the carboy. The other 3 recipes are just 2 lbs of honey and juice, with some added nutrient.
Its been a good day, and while all this was going on I managed to brew an English Special Bitter! Gonna have alot of drinking to do one day.
