I tried culturing the dregs from a bottle of JWB Dragonfruit Passionfruit and I'm not sure if what I got was lacto. I have my 2L flask filled up ~1700ml and there's a good 300-400ml of bright white krausen on top. I know some types of lacto can produce co2 but is this much krausen normal?
It's worth mentioning I'm not sure that DFPF has viable bugs but from what info I can find its possible it does. So does lacto behave like this or did I get something else?

Pretty sure DFPF is kettle soured and boiled to kill the lacto.

I wasn't sure. All I could find was this in an old interview...

"Going to be in a separate part of the brewery, separate hoses, separate fermenter… I’m not too much worried about it being in the kettle, because all that dies off anyway after certain heat points. "

I didn't know if that meant he was just doing kettle sours or possibly giving the lacto a headstart in the kettle before moving to the fermenter.
