Is this headspace appropriate for long term ageing

Oh, OK, good. I was going to discourage you from setting a full carboy directly onto concrete, as the rough surface creates pressure points on the glass that can stress it and eventually lead to a catastrophic break.
 
Hmmm so I imagine putting my carboys on a rough slate floor would really be playing with fire... Super good to know!

FYI IMO you're safe with a good amount of headspace if you purge the carboy with CO2 (if you have kegging equipment) but that amount is fine for wine so it should work good for beer as well. The racking process probably released enough CO2 to flush that tiny headspace too, so double-fine.

I would recommend a rug of even a plywood board under the carboys if you're placing them on a really hard surface.
