Is this clump of cottony wisps on the glass edge a bad infection?

I am fermenting honey with an unorthodox wort consisting of 70% flaked wheat (I know, right?) and 30% rolled oats. (the grains were mashed for 30 mins w/ amylase enzyme).

It's on its 15th day, and there has been no visual active fermentation for about 2 days. I was going to cold crash it today, but I am curious if these cottony fuzz marks mean game over for this lite braggot?

Just opened the lid and sadly it's definitely growing something that isn't Krausen.

Is this something commonly seen, or is it rubbish? It's only 1 gallon, and I'd rather not risk some alien infection or have some creature burst forth from my torso when I'm eating the space special...

This article seems to say it is safe, as the entire body of liquid is indeed clean and clear...

I dunno, it could be utterly harmless, but that red stuff is a bit unnerving.
I don't think the value of one gallon of whatevertheheckthatrecipemade would cover an ER visit ;)

Unpasteurized honey contains lots of wild microbes. Next time, add the honey toward the end of the boil, or pasteurize it separately.
Also, does that jar have an airlock?

You're describing mold and it looks like mold. It's a dumper.
