HI, im on my first batch of beer and im not sure if she's ready to bottle yet. I got a kit from midwest its a Copper Ale and it said its FG should end around 1.012. it was in the primary for 10days. So i transferd to my secondary and when i took a grav. reading it was at 1.012. is it ready to bottle? should i wait a week in secondary? Thanks for the help.

Let it be for 3-4 weeks total. The yeast are still at work cleaning things up. You will end up with a clearer and better tasting beer.

You can also forgo the secondary and just leave it in primary for the 3-4 weeks. Save the secondary for dry hopping or additives like fruit or spices.

i have heard alot about just doing only a prim. ferment....so it will still clear up just fine in the prim. eh? ok ill do that next time. now by clearing things up what do you mean exactly?

Yeast does other things with your wort while turning it into beer, not just make alcohol and CO2. Esters are also produced and some of these don't taste like we think they should. Given time, the yeast will return and reprocess these esters into more pleasing compounds.
