I brewed a batch of high gravity pumpkin ale 10.25% ABV.

I'm sure that I need to age this for a while.

While I was bottling, it tasted good. After 2 weeks in the bottle i cracked on open for a test taste and it tasted good, but a little harsh ( I'm thinking the flavors will mellow out and become more complex with aging.i plan on cellering these for at least 6 months)

After tasting that first bottle, there was about 2 fingers high of beer left in the glass. My messy ass left it in my room. About a week later, I saw the silky layer on top that is an all too familiar infection.

So my question is this: could the beer have become infected in the glass or is my whole batch infected?

As a Mom - a week? Sheeeeit if you leave a cup of coffee out for a week it will grow things, usually blue islands. RDWHAHB

Beer is sugary enough to grow crap if left open. If you left it out an entire week, who knows what it picked up. I would say it has nothing to do with your bulk batch.
