Is krausen blowout (if any) a once-a-beer event?

Hi,

I brewed my latest beer yesterday, and I had krausen blowout sometime last night or this morning. I'm wondering if that's a one-time event and won't happen again for this beer?

The reason I ask is because I'm going to collect fermentation CO2 for the first time, to be pulled back into the fermenter when I cold crash, and I don't want krausen getting into my CO2 collector.

I wouldn't be in such a hurry to get the collector installed, but I'm brewing with a kveik yeast for the first time, and it's chewing through the gravity points pretty rapidly - 1.054 O.G., and 1.030 right now.

Thanks for your help!

I'd say once, especially in this case, since the beer is much over the hill already.

So yup, you got to hurry up, she's half way done.

I've only ever had one batch of beer totally blow out more than once - and it was just last year.
I had top-cropped some yeast and direct-pitched a bunch of it on the next batch and that one refused to calm down :)

Cheers!
