Sorry, I know I am just whining, and the 5 lb CO2 tank with 3 kegs is like bicycle tire on a monster truck, making it seem worse, but opening the fridge this morning to find my pin lock "gas in" whistling as it carbonates my ****ing fridge............:mad:

Is that just the nature of the beast?

I plan on picking up a 10lb tomorrow and getting my 5 lb filled as an emergency back up.

Thanks for listening!;)

No. Something is awry. My 20 pound is good for a couple years of carbing and dispensing. A 5 pound should get better mileage than 3 kegs.

Bummer about the disconnect. Is the spring trashed?

It is new, and thanks for the quick response.

I don't think it is sprung. It is a pin lock, I lubed like crazy because it leaked initially.

Well, once I bought some McMaster o-rings based on numbers I found here. I got them and they felt a bit thin. When I comparted them to the existing they wwere of the same diameter but, guessing, about 2/3rd as thick. I tried 1 of them and the disco leaked, even with lube. I sent them back and guessed at a larger thickness and no-longer have a leak problem.

I wonder if this scenario is similar to your problem. Maybe ask the vendor if they have thicker o-rings?

The problem is definitely in your equipment, not the size of your CO2 tank.

You need to find the cause of the leak.

Check that you have o-rings at the dip tube, outside of the post, and inside the QD. And that they, and the poppet are all in good shape.

Sometimes the inner o-ring on the QD can get mashed/folded out of position and leak.
