I thought we'd have to wait till the next world cup! Great news!
i still haven't tried that one. whats it comparable to? i know all tomes are pretty damn unique, but i'm sure it shares some characteristics of something elseI love it so much I haven't cracked a bottle in months because I don't want my stash to run low. This is good news.
I would liken it most to Sur Lie, but with a turned up citrus profile (lots of lemon, lime, and orange/tangerine) and more pronounced funk than the recent batches of saison (though the funk was less pronounced when fresh). I also perceive it to be a bit dryer than the saison.i still haven't tried that one. whats it comparable to? i know all tomes are pretty damn unique, but i'm sure it shares some characteristics of something else
Whoa.![]()
Does anyone know how old that bottle of saison could be? I've never seen one with a plastic cork
The label is very similar (albeit pristine condition) compared to my sur lie bottles from the early to mid 90's.![]()

For anyone not following along on the book of faces, Dany confirmed this as a bottle possibly from 1990.Come on danyP ! I know you saw that corked bottle picture. Give us some details!!
Last release was 2011 I think.Wondering if anyone knows roughly how many times Saint Roch was produced? Was it an annual thing until it stopped? The earliest RB reviews are from late 2006.
I picked one up three years ago from a shop but got the impression it had already been there for a while. Am trying to figure out roughly how old it might be.
I want more… I want more…Last release was 2011 I think.
Anyone landed an extra sour recently? What did it take? I had one years ago and would like to try it again.
Also, someone added extra sour into my fitness pal, just in case...

Liked for the Mountain Goats lyric.![]()
This stuff tastes like medicine but I'll take it. Still should've bought Magic Ghost instead.
I didn't think anyone'd get that! Felt very applicable though. The first sips were extremely bitter with some very pronounced medicinal notes to it. Reminded me of the taste you can get in the back of your throat when you use a nasal corticosteroid spray. As with every Fantome bottle, it improved a lot when I got further into the bottle and the beer had breathed a little. Maybe it is the crazy yeast in my last pour or maybe it is the Fantome drunkenness but my overall feeling is that it's not so bad. Not my favorite bottle of Fantome but I don't regret buying it either.Liked for the Mountain Goats lyric.
I love the Mountain Goats. I got to see them finally last year at a venue within walking distance from my home and chatted with John Darnielle afterwards, who was as awesome as you'd expect.I didn't think anyone'd get that! My wife's favorite band. She's seen them play 25+ times, I've probably seen them 12 times now. John is an unbelievably good dude.I love the Mountain Goats. i love your rundown of your experience with your bottle of India Red Ale, it sums up nicely the delightful unexpectedness every bottle brings. Cheers!
One of the highlights of my teen years was putting out a record with a Mountain Goats song on it. I had to send him stamps because he was too broke at the time to send me the master tape otherwise. I'm so glad that dude 'made it' - couldn't have happened to a better person. My wife's favorite band. She's seen them play 25+ times, I've probably seen them 12 times now. OK, we need more details. My wife got John do a live set at our college radio station. Will see if I can dig up the set.One of the highlights of my teen years was putting out a record with a Mountain Goats song on it.
