I an sure this has been discussed, but my shop in SE Michigan just got greenlit for Shelton so I ordered a case of Pissenlit, only had Extra Dark Sour but have wanted to experience more Tome love since I read so much about them here, what can I expect(if anything) from the most recent stateside bottles? I have one chilling for when I get off at 11, I hope these are decent bottles. Rolling those dice anyway but any advice on this stuff is appreciated. Excited to be able to grab these off my shelf, someone school me on some Piss.

Hey darlin', do you gamble?

Basic tôme philosophy.

I am aware of the gamble! I love the risk factor, Pissenlit seems to be one that most really enjoy. Haven't read too many smoked condom descriptions on that one. I am thrilled either way! Hopefully we get more than Hiver and Pissenlit, really want to try Magic Ghost at some point.

Just yesterday I had a fresh Pissenlit bottle at a very nice restaurant in NYC, and it was outstanding.

Has anyone had any recent bottles of Dark White?(how are they?) My girlfriend picked some up for me when she was in the Bay Area

I cracked one about a month ago, and I wish I sat on it for another 6 months or so. It was a little phenolic, and hadn't started developing much funk. Definitely needed some more time.

So creamy, so much soft stone fruit and pineapple. Herbal and dusty. Really quite lovely.
GR got some last week, and then a second wave came through yesterday, to more stores this time. Picked up a few bottles for me and some friends. Sadly, I'm fighting a pretty bad cold, so I haven't tried any yet. Very excited based on your post though.

I had a bottle of the recent (I think) batch of Noel. I really enjoyed it. Probably one of the closest things to a traditional Belgian that Fantome has done. No alcohol heat for the supposed 10% abv. A little pepper from the yeast. Minimimal to no funk. A little caramel. Really good.

I have another bottle to sit on. Anyone have experience aging out a Noel?

Like most Tomes, each batch and sometimes bottles are wildly different so commentary on how yours is gonna age might be completely irrelevant to others opinions. Chances are good that if you like where its at now, it might get more funky/complex in the years to come but that I have found to be just the norm, not necessarily the rule.

Ive had older bottles that I just wasnt a fan of because like you said, they tasted too plain and normal and thats not what I look for in tomes. However, last year I found some Noel sitting on shelves in June/July, drank one and went back for more because I found it to have wonderful complexity and a dark fruit flavor like currant/cranberry. I have 2 left and will be drinking 1 within the next 3 weeks.

While its fresh on my mind I guess ill drop this here...

danyP you remember making this 20 years ago? If so, can you tell us something about it?

It was a beautiful experience. The integrity of the cork was flawless, came out in tact and made a resounding pop that hurt my ears. Very lively carbonation but not distracting and the aroma/flavor showed minimal oxidation. Classic Fantôme house brett that I love/crave. Caramel malt meets candied oranges upfront than warming alcohol, slight bitterness and funk all throughout the finish.

Dude it is gorgeous I couldn't help myself from buying most of the case off. When you break that cold, dome one trust me. Had one more last night and I am convinced this guy is a warlock.

Dat tomeware collection

This has probably been discussed, but is there any Fantome glassware that is relatively easy to find? I feel like I need some form of ghost glass in my life.
Solid filled in ghost logo with 25cl designation on the flip side was the last, most common release that was on webshops and could be found in select stores across the US.
Outlined ghost predates that with similar availability.
Then you get into the tougher to find solid ghost with no markings on reverse and the chope stoneware.

An ISO/FT post of any limited and desired glassware should pull a new style filled in ghost tulip pretty easily

stakem thank you for the info! I will be on the hunt for anything I can get. I love all the designs so whatever I find first will suffice. By outlined do you mean the squiggly base one like in your photo? If those are not incredibly rare I will try to seek one out. Liking the looks of that one.

No, by outlined I mean the short tulip that is the inverse image of the solid filled in version. Basically, look at my picture, im talking about the 2 glasses center stage closest to the bottle.

The squiggly z-stem is a different beast that pretty much wont be found. :/

Pretty sure he means the ones to the left and right of the bottle.

the wavy stem in the picture is damn near impossible to track down. Unofficially made by a bar for an event if I remember correctly (and they were supposed to be destroyed). There's also an mspaint wavy stem that a talkbeer user made and gave to some of us that are friends of his (not sure whether he wants to be outed).
