I know plenty of people who are after it (including me). Would require whalez at this stage I expect.....likely slightly obscure ones too, not the usual insta nonsense.

And another question: is it still even possible to trade for Extra Sour Special Creation anymore without having other old tomes to trade for it? I've still never tried it, never had any bites when I've put up ISOs, don't know if it's even worth trying again.

If our paths ever cross (or either of you find yourselves in central Pennsylvania) I will open one with you guys.

I make this offer feeling very guilty that id love to also share a beer with beeraroundtown who is currently ~2 hours away from me but im unable to get to him while he is here.

Any of you dudes know of Forest Ghost Dark being sold anywhere? I missed out on it during my yearly self-imposed beer-buying hiatus during Lent.

I had a dream about Fantome last night. In it, I rode around town on a Surly Big Dummy, buying bottles of Pissenlit, Saison, and a few other types and putting it in the side bags. Not sure if I had any mules riding on the back. Think it was a sign. It opened up my eyes.

heh, certainly no worries, we'll definitely meet up sometime! PA has a few Fantomes to be had so I'm having a good trip.

I never had the b1 De Tous Les D'iapes, but the fresh one is very good. It reminds me of some sort of amalgamation of Tropicana's Orange/Strawberry/Banana, lemon & lime, earth, and a bit herbal. Low carb and creamy.
I know lighting and camera play a significant role but wow that looks different from the OG batch. Cannot wait to get that in my belly!!

Also very much wanting that Jester King version of Del Rey

I thought the same about the color.

Everytime I hear "banana" and "herbal" about a newly-released 'Tome, it reminds me they all seem like they are released a little too early. They go through that heavy, phenolic phase before they start to shine. I knew I should've sat on 1 of my 2 Forest Ghosts for this specific reason, but I just had to tear into one. I think that'll be a great beer, in time though.

Definitely a lot more orange than b1. More of an orangey earthy old pulpy thing going on than the bright sharp lemony of fresh b1 too. Classic Fantôme, totally different beer. Mouthfeel is pretty full despite rather low carb (after a touch in the glass I poured this aggressively). Big fan.

Can you guys tell the difference between Pissenlit and straight Saison? To me, it tastes note-for-note identical (which is not a bad thing, mind!). Curious if I'm missing something.

I think it really depends on the batches you are comparing. Some batches are similar, I agree but ive honestly never had a pissenlit that made me say/think this just tastes like regular saison. Having said that, ive never felt like I picked up on what exactly the dandelions brought to that beer either...

I've never had a bottle of Pissenlit that even resembles Saison. Especially the newer batches of Saison which taste like straight lemon

There's pretty enormous batch/bottle variation on Saison so it's entirely possible there are some bottles out there that are close but I've had very few that were anywhere close to Pissenlit territory to my palate, and none that I might have mistaken for Pissenlit. And these are the two tomes I drink most often. Shrug...Fantome.

You folks manipulated me subconsciously today.

I read the last few pages of this thread this morning and then went and ran some errands for a few hours. Along the way I stopped at the store. Finding myself in the beer section my attention quickly turned to a pissenlit, never once having thought of this thread. I got home and put beer in the fridge, and then proceed to sit down and open this thread.

Thank you. Of course I bought a pissenlit.

I just finished my 2nd & final Forest Ghost (nice and nutty flavor)... A lot more alcohol than a Fantome Saison (even though it says 6%)... I'm feeling it... so I'm gonna have another... my go to La Dalmatienne!!! I Love the ones from 2015!!!! (Glad I bought 2 cases from Etre) ;)
