Maybe the most autumnal thing I've ever had. Most dominant flavor is honey but I also got tons of nutmeg/sherry/apple cider and the dregs had all that + quite a bit of peach. Just a really lovely experience.

Can anyone help me with what's the estimated bottling year for these bottles (a Saison, and a Printemps)?

I'm curious as well. it's either a 4 or 5 year best-by date but I'm not sure which.
I was given a Saison with a best-by date of 2012 over the weekend and trying to figure out if it's a 2007 or 2008

The "lot no 14, best by end 2018" label is what was on the bottle released like last Summer. The really, really good batch. That's not to say the same labels haven't been used for other batches though, so who knows.

I also recently got some Belgian label bottles that say "lot d, November, best by end 2016." These supposedly came straight from the brewery *after* the "best by 2018" label bottles were sold. Has anyone seen this bottling? Is this the "brewed in November 2015" bottling that Etre is selling right now? I know the best by dates don't make any sense but I don't necessary expect them too, could be old labels reused or could be danyP not really caring what the best by date says.

ISO: pineappley lemon lime goodness!

Magic Ghost is about the only Tome beer I've had that might have had a faint citrus note. But even that is a stretch.

Thinking I could dig on a La Dal like SirDickButts described! Or any Tome!
I still remember the regular saison that I had back in 03 - lemonade for days! One of the two or three beers that got me started on this addiction!

I get very distinct lime from Tous D'japes so im familiar with them lime feels.
Dal light to me was like a classic yeasty clove/banana saison with menthol. I hate menthol

iso the dank tweed version
mentol ??.. t$
strange ! .possible i let go in a pharmacy bad g ?.... :)

As a bonus, I had a 2010/11 Hiver tonight that was super strange, perhaps even for Fantome.
Tons of overripe - almost rotten - fruits (honeydew, watermelon, apricot, raspberry, mango, dank durian, squishy oranges) and there's some wooden tannin-like flavors on the tongue; sweet but drying finish, medium carb, tiny bit of acetic tartness. Intriguing. Four of us shared it - all really liked it, and were mystified. Two more bottles left of that batch to try later.

... well ! ....
Scientist questions ! ..... ;-)

Has anyone tried the new Saison offered on Etre Gourmet in the last month or so? Is it a good batch? Been thinking about putting down a big order! Thanks

Jesus Christ. There were 48 bottles. I go back literally 1 minute later and there are 38 bottles. Not the Tomes, now, please not the Tomes.
I was just thinking the same thing. :/

Mybeerbuzz blasted the labels for this one 3 days ago. Looks like there will be a dark version too with the same label/scenery but at night...get it? dark...night...derp

I might as well hit the trade boards and post my pretrade awhile.
FT blonde beach forest ghosty cakes
ISO the dark version that will sell out before we even knew it was available

Im kidding of course. Less we forget that Dany can reboot the universe and drop newmoney interest by setting the brews on fire.

Our very own nostradamus dontdrinkbeer forecasted this Fantomenon ages ago.

Is the growth of dontdrinkbeer 's blog, coupled with his constant praise of Tomes, responsible for this? I'll hang up and listen.

Actually, I won't. Goddamnit DDB.
"This isn't a saison, this isn't even sour, where's the butyric, acetylaldehyde and monoculture emphasis that is traditional to Saisons. These Belgians need to get their **** together, I can drink this entire 750ml by myself what is this-"

I dont know how many bottles were put up but I think its safe to assume that those dozen bottles or so that sold real quick were likely due to this thread and the announcement/reaction of regular fans/readers/contributors of this thread. The rest of the bottles will last the rest of the day as people contemplate rolling the dice and/or find something different to complete orders.
