I know "lead free" brass still may have up to 0.0025% lead. I want to say this is minute and probably get more lead drinking water (insert Flint, MI joke) or from everyday activities.

Anyways, I am wondering is brass safe to use when building a mash tun? I don't want to start a debates on what beat to use. Obviously SS is preferable but that's not what I am asking. It's simply is brass safe to use?

Thanks for input!

I assume you are talking about a brass ball valve. I have them in my HLT, mash tun, and my boil kettle. I don't worry about it much. Look at the plumbing in your house, I bet you find a lot of brass there.

I am fine and the uncontrollable twitch in my neck only bothers me when I am driving or watching TV. ;)
