Just writing to introduce myself, I am getting back into homebrewing and I want to focus on ciders and meads. I just put my first batch in after a four year hiatus and straight away dropped my spoon in the carboy, effectively imprisoning it for several weeks. Note to self: buy longer spoon cause nobody likes arm hairs in their cider.

Welcome to the forum, I personally don't have any experience with mead, but I have made a batch of EdWort's apfelwein (similar to cider) and must say that it is tasty.
