I accidentally put 1 TBS of Irish moss in the boil, and only too late did I realize that I was supposed to use 1 tsp. Is this a big deal?

Also, I used a strainer bag for the first time to filter out the hops, but in hindsight realize that this probably also filtered out the irish moss. Does this matter, or would it have already imparted its clarifying properties to the boil.

No big deal, I doubt you will get any off-flavors or anything. It would have already imparted it's clarifying properties into the brew - your mesh filter didn't hurt you.

There was just something on basic brewing radio of a guy doing some tests with irish moss, and he was putting way over the called amount and was getting great results! I cant remember if it was one of the newwer ones or an older one I was listening to it at work yesterday.
