A while back this winter I bought the Dead Ringer ipa kit on sale. Meant to have brewed it long ago but ya know how life goes.

Anyway after experimenting the the chocolate milk stout and adding bourbon, cinnamon, and vanilla to the mix it came out great. It was a ton of fun to take a great kit and make it even better.

My inspiration is Bay Rum. The classic scented aftershave. Which is generally bay leaf, spice, citrus, and sometimes rum. Every company kind of has their own blend.

So I’m thinking maybe orange zest, with clove and cinnamon soaked in rum. Or maybe add some oak? Or is this too much noise for an ipa?
