Using beersmith (im sure other programs have it), what is an average IBU/SG for IPA's. One that is not crazy bitter but good mix of bitter/aroma hop flavor. I am thinking .800 + but not sure. Just want to see what everyone who brews IPA's use.

I brew mine to somewhere around...

BU : GU = Don't-worry-about-what-the-IBUs-are-just-be-sure-to-focus-on-late-additions : 72

In all seriousness though, I bitter at 60 with hop shots to maybe 60-80, then throw a lot in late and don't worry about how much or little those contribute to the IBU calculations.

I've settled on 1.072 being the butter zone for my standard IPA. Bigger ones get a bigger bitter addition, still disregarding how the rest effect the calculations.

1.072! Haha nice. Haven't Brewed one past .715! I don't really look at IBU's. I always brew to the bu/gu. .500 being perfect balance.
