Hi all,
Quick background, 2nd time brewing, brewed NB's Smashing Pumpkin Ale extract kit, full boil and the only deviation from recipe was adding 1 can (15oz) of oven roasted pumpkin puree 10 min from the end of the boil.
Wasn't able to get my wort down past 80 degrees and had rehydrated my Safale US-05 dry yeast close to 45 minutes before wort chilled (also at 80degrees per instructions). Didn't want to wait too much longer with yeast in my flask for so long so I aerated wort and pitched, put the blowoff on and put into my ferm chamber set at 65 degrees (US-05 ideal is 59-71). Temp probe secured to side of the carboy, within 15 minutes it was down to 75 degrees. In 45 minutes it was at 65.
24 hours later I have this:

Question #1: I'm guessing I shocked the yeast a bit with the temp changes, but they should be ok right? Just a little slower to start?
Question #2: The krausen is forming but what's up with the darker brown foam in the pic? Natural occurence or potential issue/infection?
Thanks all!
