Hey Gang,

First post and second batch. A quick thanks to all that take the time to post all of the info here - learned a lot in quick time..

Thought this photo was interesting. Amber ale all extract three days deep into fermentation. Made a swamp cooler for the garage that seems to work great - since insulating it I only need one ice bottle or so to keep the temp. reasonable. I thought it was interesting, however, to note the difference in the fermentation/Krausen away from the ice bottle towards the warmer side.

Definitely doing a partial next batch~

I think you need two ice bottles :) Welcome to the forums! Somewhere around here is a pic of two fermentations and the side of the more active fermentation heated up the other fermentation on the side it was closest to, created a similar effect as your ice bottle.
