So Im brewing a black IPA or Hoppy porter, or RIS, whatever you want to call it. But heres what I've come up with. Where I'm looking for the most input is on my hop schedule. I feel I may have gone overboard with 10 oz. of hops, but I want it to be roasty and very hoppy, so please give me some honest feedback before I brew this thing.

Extract Recipe, 6 gal. full boil for 60 min.

7 lb light DME
1 Lb. Crystal 77
12 oz Carafa III
4 oz black patent
1 lb Caramel Pils

1 oz Centennial First Wort
1 oz Columbus First Wort
1 oz Amarillo 60
1 oz Columbus 10
1 oz Chinook 10
1 oz Simcoe 5
.5 oz Amarillo 0
1 oz Centennial 0
1 oz Citra 0
.5 Amarillo Dryhop 7 days
1 oz Simcoe Dryhop 7 days

WLP007 yeast

I'm certainly no authority on the style, in fact, I don't know if I have ever had a black IPA.

I'd drop the black patent. I don't think the harsh roasty notes would go well with the hops.
