I know what my non-infected recipes look like, but how soon do you know that the batch has gotten infected? Like, would you know within the first day or so?
 
No. It takes a couple of weeks for an infection to become evident, in my experience.

If you're nervous, post a photo in this thread, and more experienced brewers will either put your mind at ease or confirm your fears for you.
 
Nah, I was just curious as I'd never had the experience. But I presume you'd know prior to bottling.
