I brewed a bourbon barrel porter extract kit. I had it in the primary for three weeks. It tasted great when I transferred to the secondary.

After transferring I noticed tiny bubbles. I asked a friend and he confirmed that it was nothing. After adding the oak, bourbon, and vanilla beans, I noticed that the bubbles increased in size covering a lot of the surface area.

I'm just curious if it is an infection or if this is normal. I posted two pics of before I added the bourbon, and one pic of how it looks now, Thanks

Did you, just dump in the oak and vanilla? Or did you sanitize them in some way (alcohol soak, warm water bath)?

Looks like secondary fermentation to me. There are several threads devoted to infection picture on HBT - check them out for comparison.

Thank you, I'm very pleased to hear the positive responses! I soaked the oak in makers mark for two weeks.
