I just thought I'd share this, I thought it was interesting.

While traveling in India for business, their main domestic was KingFisher lager sold in a few varieties, Ultra, Premium, Etc. The premium was the best and also had a very interacting cap on it. Kind of like a hybrid pull tab of yesteryear.

It was the best readily available beer. I think the best part of the beer was opening it :)

Cheers !

That's a cool tab. I have had Kingfisher at Indian restaurants in the States, but never with that cap.

We have an Indian restaurant in a western suburb that has a brewery attached to it. Craft brew and Indian food might be my version of heaven.

I lived in the same town as Mendocino Brewery, and when I'd go to the alehouse there they would always advertise Kingfisher. I got the impression that they brew it and export it, but now I'm not sure. Maybe they're the main *importer*?

Either way I never tried it...

I drank my fair share of it while I was there, it was better than standard BMC if I remember right if you can find a place that has it cold.

The brewery also owns an airline called Kingfisher that I was privy to use as well, or the airline owns the brewery which ever way it works.

The nifty caps were only on the 'Ultra' which sold for Rs. 80 or $1.50

The company that owns Kingfisher acquired Mendocino Brewing company, I believe. I used to live in Sonoma County in the 90s and would go all the time, so I was pretty surprised at the changes when I popped in a couple years ago. When I asked the bartender, she told me about the acquisition.
