Ahoy hoy!

The first ever TB NYC Brewery Crawl will take place on Saturday, February 24, 2018.

Since we know this may take some organization and people's schedules fill quickly, we're letting you know now so you can plan accordingly!

Based on responses and feedback, we will plan to hit the following breweries (subject to change depending on group size, accommodations, can releases, etc):
  • Fifth Hammer
  • LIC
  • Interboro
  • KCBC
  • Greenpoint
  • Threes (paging nathanmiller)
  • Folksbier
We will potentially start at Haymaker around 11AM and work our way to Queens and Brooklyn, with a final stop back in the city at One Mile House that evening (in b4 "I wonder why")

Edit: The crawl will start with the meeting at Haymaker around 11 am and conclude at OMH that evening.

We will plan to spend about 1-2 hours at each spot; travel time will also be added to the final itinerary.

In order for us to plan accordingly, I ask that you please fill out this RSVP form.

If you have any questions, please PM me (or text if you are so able/inclined).

Looking forward to a day out and about with everyone!

I'm in for this if you'll have me.
One thing is you have 9 stops on this magical mystery tour. You are scheduling 1-2 hours per. It's been my experience that when beer is involved, it is incredibly hard to get the group out of the door. So my question is just how far does this group of beer marauders get before the whole plan falls apart. I have doubts we can make it to Greenpoint

Yeah this will be an interesting day for sure. Just due to the zig zaggy nature of it all I can see one or two or three places already being dropped out by the time this happens. Also if it's a huge group there are some places we just won't be able to do.

The plan isn't going to fall apart. It is also not set in stone yet for the reasons mentioned already.

That's why it's important to have numbers so we know which spots can accommodate us and what we can take or leave if necessary. Theoretically we'd take the E over to LIC for Fifh Hammer (a big want for many) and then shoot down to Greenpoint.

I think the X factor may be Interboro because of size and also that as far as mass transit is concerned, it's the farthest east.

Regardless we may find ourselves sharing cars depending on how the trains are running. I obviously have no control over that.

And again... it's still relatively early and there is no official head count as of yet. So... everything is
subject to change depending on group size, accommodations, can releases, etc

I'm happy to have you if you leave your negativity and doubts home. ;) Have faith it'll work out even if not all the original spots are visited. This isn't my first organization and beer planning rodeo.

An RSVP date will be posted soon.

It's not negativity at all. I am sure it is going to be a great day.
Thank you for organizing this event.

I said to myself shortly after, "Oof, I gotta remember not everyone in this thread knows me personally."

But yeah...

;)

If anything goes wrong, I will just blame Saugusbrewer, and I suggest everyone else does the same.

Edit: In light of recent texts, I will also blame axeman9182.

I still suggest you do the same.
I am in, trying to get my wife in as a +1, what is the ratio of these places that have mixed drinks, she's not much of a beer drinker? Please say zero, I don't want my wife and talk beer world colliding.

Well, obviously zero! ;)

Edit: I will PM you the answer you don't want to hear.

Hey guys!

The RSVP date for this event will be Thursday, December 14.

This will give us some time to give a heads up to potential breweries.

So, if you are on the fence, stop wavering and lock down the date.
Start looking into those plane tickets. (Gonzoillini / lurchingbeast)

The link for the RSVP is below. It will lock at midnight EST, 12/14. Other details concerning the crawl are on the first page.

Whaaaaaat!

YES, Steve!

Maybe this will prompt some other out of towners to come through as well.

Also guys, thrilled to see these posts, but PLEASE make sure you RSVP on the Google Form because I will using that for the head (heh) count. Os is likely going to visit some of the breweries in a few weeks, so we really do need to know who's truly in and who's just playing with the few emotions I have. ;)
