In three weeks gravity went from 1.072 to 1.030

After three weeks in the primary, I racked my stout and only then decided to measure the gravity. I was disappointed to see it at 1.030. I am planning to age it for two more months but should I worry about my FG being so high? I bottle condition and I really don't want to have any bottle bombs.

Racking should bring the yeast back into suspension. What temp are you holding the secondary at?

The sticker thermometer reads 62. I am considering moving it upstairs to get a little warmer.

Warming it up will help. Cover it with a blanket,old coat,or something. Mine restarted by the next afternoon. But I measured it in primary. So I roused some yeast & warmed it up a little bit.

Warming it up as mentioned will help as well as the racking got things mixed up again. You should see some action from those 2 things.

Alright, I'll move it tonight. I will probably leave it alone for about a month anyway, but if the gravity stays that high, should I try adding yeast to it at a later point?

If it doesn't come down with warmer temps and the agitation (racking), I'd consider it a stalled fermentation and more yeast may be the answer.

what was the recipe, mash temps, and how much yeast did you pitch?

I pitched two vials of yest, because I didn't want to make a starter.

It fermented at about 67 until the temperature drop.
