Hello all! I am looking to create a "Imperial Red IPA," which is sort of a made up thing. Basically it is a IIPA, that is red. Pretty basic. I have never created a recipe from scratch before, so I would like to see if I can get some feedback from the group. This is what I put together:
Mash
Amt Name %/IBU
13 lbs 4.0 oz Pale Malt (2 Row) US (2.0 SRM) 80.30%
1 lbs Caramunich Malt (56.0 SRM) 6.10%
1 lbs Carared (20.0 SRM) 6.10%
8.0 oz Melanoiden Malt (20.0 SRM) 3.00%
8.0 oz Victory Malt (25.0 SRM) 3.00%
4.0 oz Chocolate Malt (350.0 SRM) 1.50%
Boil Additions
Amt Name %/IBU
1.00 oz Chinook [13.00 %] - Boil 60.0 min 37.5 IBUs
0.50 oz Cascade [5.50 %] - Boil 60.0 min 7.9 IBUs
1.00 oz Centennial [10.00 %] - Boil 30.0 min 22.2 IBUs
0.50 oz Cascade [5.50 %] - Boil 30.0 min 6.1 IBUs
0.30 tsp Irish Moss (Boil 10.0 mins)
1.00 oz Liberty [4.30 %] - Boil 10.0 min 4.5 IBUs
Any pointers or insight would be appreciated! Thanks!
