Impeller pump question

Hi all,

I have an impeller pump setup that was used by our home's previous owner as a method of supplying spring water (in barrels in the basement) to the refridgerator cup filler. It is an off-the-shelf system complete with a switch (fancy, I know ) My question is, does anyone use these for transferring wort or is there an aeration hazard with this? I would love to find a use for it. I could just run water to flush it after use followed by sanitizer. Any ideas?
