Just had to share, I'm a super newbie and I just opened a bottle of my first attempt at home brew. It's a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale clone, and it worked!! Man what a feeling! I was sure it would be just terrible, hahaha. Anyway I just had to share that, I'm looking forward to the next one!

Congrats, man! I too was just happy to say my first batch tasted like beer. Know the feeling and it's a great one!

Enjoy. Start taking notes on taste early on as this will help you determine any changes to your practices and approach and help zone in your brews over time. Cheers!!!

The power .... Ohhhhhh the power! The power to create your own beer is so intoxicating! Bwahahahahaha!

Welcome to the club! Remember, beer actually requires a little bit of effort to REALLY screw up. That's not to say it's not easy to make an undrinkable batch (note I didnt say BAD, I said undrinkable) so caution should always be taken, but no need to be paranoid!

Just wait till the days you start really expanding and start crafting your own beers. Then when you have that first delicious sip, you can really say "I crafted and brewed this!"

First beer is a hit? Lucky you'll probably get the bug harder than me, my first 3 brews were train wrecks and here I am a few years later and people actually ask me for homebrew.

My first beer was undrinkable. My second beer was barely drinkable. My third and fourth beers were drinkable with minor issues (diacetyl) and then I finally got the process down well enough to make good beer. The broken link in my brewing chain was fermentation temperature. You HAVE to control fermentation temperature somehow. Right now I'm just putting my primary in a rope bucket filled with water and adding frozen water bottles, but it's better than nothing when the house hits 80F during the day.

Another piece of advice is I'm sure you were exceptionally careful during the process with your first beer and sanitized everything very well. Keep that level of care every single brew day. Don't get comfortable because that's when you make mistakes.

Ha ha ha, another unsuspecting human has been sucked into the abyss!

Glad to hear all is good!

Tell us what your plan is for the next brew?
