Although I have moved on to all-grain, I find myself with some extract remaining.

15 lbs Gold LME (2 6# and 1 3# container)
1 pound of crystal 15
1 pound of caramel 40
9 oz of cascade (AA's are not known)

I was thinking about just making one 5 gallon big beer with these ingredients, although I know I should buy some bittering hops (and yeast of course). Alternatively, I was thinking about making two IPA's and using the crystal 15 in one and caramel 40 in the other to see how they compare.

I've created my own recipes about six times over the years, and they always suck. I don't want to head down that path again.

Anyone have suggestions?

2 batches assuming 5.5% AA on the Cascade

1st Batch - IPA
8 lb LME
0.75 lb Crystal 15L
0.25 lb Crystal 40L
Cascade 2 oz 60 min
Cascade 1 oz 10 min
Cascade 1 oz FO
Cascade 2 oz Dryhop
US05

2nd Batch - APA
7 lb LME
0.75 Crystal 40L
0.25 Crystal 15L
Cascade 1 oz 60 min
Cascade 1 oz 15 min
Cascade 1 oz 5 min
US05

Or you could dice it up a million different ways :D

Thanks stpug. Sorry I took so long to reply.

I ended up doing this:
0.75 crystal 40L
0.75 crystal 15L
12 lbs LME
2 oz magnum 60
1.5 cascade 20
1.5 cascade 15
1.5 cascade 10
1.5 cascade 5

I also added 1 lb, 7 oz of honey, but I don't remember adding it. Perhaps it's a typo in the recipe.

San Diego super yeast WLP090 with a 4 liter starter

I don't have room for the beer right now, so its still in primary. Will add 3 oz cascade when I move to secondary.
