From what I heard from how to make Kilju, I did some experiment with sugar, water and bread yeast.
In a 1.5L bottle of store-bought low-sodium water (this is the only type I can have access now), I added a tea spoonful of bread yeast and about 300g of sugar, targeting at 10% ABV. Waited for three weeks, tasting time to time. kept it in the closet, not humid, dark. Shook it once or twice a day. And the results were just fizzy sugar water with 100% non-alcoholic content. So it tastes like a homemade soft drink with no flavor, but sweetness.
1) Could some bread yeast (like mine) be simply useless for brewing? It's brand name is "DCL Active Dried Yeast "
Its expiration date is until next August. I store it in the fridge (for no reason, but lack of space for storage in my room).
2) Is there anything I can try in a different way with the same bread yeast?
