I thought I was making an IPA

But I guess I figured out how to make grapefruit juice without out even using grapefruits. Granted its only been in the bottles for 2 days it tastes just like grapefruit juice. Should I add vodka and have greyhounds??? Will this change as it ages in the bottles?

Give it time man. More like 21 days. I can get away with trying some at 10 days, but they're *never* "ready" till 21 days or more.

Three weeks at about 70 degrees, then chill at least 24 hours. The beer will change a lot in that time.

The hops you chose must have given you the grapefruit taste. I found that Citra and Cascade were strong grapefruit when I used them in a pale ale so I would suspect that they would be stronger yet in an IPA. The good news is that if you don't like the grapefruit, give it time and it will fade. My pale ales took about 2 months for the flavor to start fading and probably 3 to 4 for it to be mostly gone.

Hey everyone in happy with the grapefruit flavor. I always have one the day after bottling just to see were its at. There is no off flavors it's strong, crystal clear, I'm thinking in about 2 weeks it's going to be a lot better in 4 to 6 weeks it's going to be awesome

1.5 nugget 60 min
.5 oz northern brewer 20, 10, and flameout
.5 oz 7c's at 15, 5, and flameout
Ferment 10 days
Dry hop 1.5 oz Amarillo 5 days and removed
Dry hop 1.5 oz Amarillo 5 more days and then bottled.

No, Falconer's Flight 7 C's is a hop variety.

Still, I can see this being pretty grapefruit/citrusy.

was it a blend of the hops with .5 oz at each addition or a .5 oz of each variety? either way sounds about right.

Falconers 7c's
.5 oz at 15, 5, and flameout.
1.5 oz total
Northern brewer was the same except 20, 10, and flameout
1.5 oz total.
