Alright, I bought a kegerator (mini fridge) today, but I still need two cornies, hoses, connects, co2 tank, etc...

Where do you guys think the best deal for this stuff is online? I'd like to save as much money as possible!

Thanks guys.
Jacob:tank:

I found a 20# co2 tank on craigslist for $40. That seems to be the most expensive item. I got the rest at midwestsupplies, the kit with 2 cornies and a dual regulator. It looks like it's unavailable now, though.

I ordered my kegging setup from kegconnection.com as well. They had lots of options and I was able to create a kit for my needs.

It got here quick and I've had no problems with it so far.

I have ordered a bunch from both Midwest and Kegconnection. Both are stand up operations that delivered well. Kegconnection is having a sale on kegs so it might be worthwhile to talk to them, especially if you are building a tower and all that. Get Perlicks.

Do not order from kegkits.

Alright, I don't want to kill the thread, but I bought all of my stuff last night on ebay. Hey, if you've had good experience with certain sites/stores keep posting them. It will help others.

Here's where I got mine:

I've been burned on ebay too many times, I would go with a more reputable seller. I just got a bunch of stuff from Kegconnection.com, "B stock" kegs, hose and such, and I'm happy to say that I was impressed. None of the rubber on the kegs were loose, like they were supposed to be. I'll be picking up some perlicks from their other site, tapdraft.com when funds become available. Good luck.:mug:

I completely understand you concern. However, I must have read 30 good reviews on keg kits from this guy. I know I'm taking a risk, but we will just have to see. I'll let you know how it goes.

go on kegconnection.com

call them, seriously, he will help you out in whatever you need. amazing vendor.

I need yalls advice. I bought this last night http://cgi.ebay.com/Two-Tap-Tower-M...0?hash=item3ef5b7b52e&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116
and I'm a little stressed b/c I wish I would have done more research. I know the guy I bought this from runs a legit LHBS in Oklahoma or something b/c I looked up reviews on ebay and other sites. I'm not too worried that I'm going to get ripped off, but I'm a little worried that I could've gotten better quality products for roughly the same price. He says that if nothing is used he will take it back and give a free refund within 30 days. Should I just wait and see what it looks like and if it looks like crap send it back or should I try to call and cancel the order and just go with kegconnection.com?

I just feel like I'm spending a lot of money and if I'm going to be spending that much, I want to get good stuff! I mean after all, didn't I go into this hobby because I wanted to make great affordable beer? Atleast that's what I thought about $400 dollars worth of equipment ago!

Anyways, thanks a lot guys,
Jacob

it's a good price, but I would've gone without the tower and bought a tower without faucets just because yo'll eventually move to perlicks anyway. just a thought

also, if you do want to switch to perlicks,

on wednesday at noon, forrester should be putting a sale on his perlicks

So you think that I should just go with it and it wasn't a complete impulse buy? Maybe I can call and talk to the guy and see if he has any towers w/out faucets. What's the big benefit with the perlicks? Also, how do you know that they will be going on sale?!

perlicks won't stick. regular faucets, after a day or two of not dispensing will just be hard as a rock to open, but after you dispense one, it's nice all night. they're also a bitch to clean comparatively.

it's personal choice really. some people don't see themselves shelling out the money for perlicks, but I don't see myself NOT shelling it out.

you got a good deal, especially the FREE shipping. good luck! Hope all the equipment is in good condition if not all new! (except kegs of course)

man, I have spent far too much on equipment. building a 4 tap pvc tower in the next month or two.

Alright, for me to get that set up you just showed me with perlicks would be about $50 more than what I spent. About the same price I could prob find them on ebay or something. Hey, how do you know when AHS will have stuff on sale?

I linked to show you that you got a sweet deal on ebay!

Forrester said this Wednesday at noon the perlicks will be on sale (the 525ss Im guessing...) they are like 30 now so Im thinking somewhere between 20-23 dollars, since I'm buying 4 it's a big difference to me.

also use that opportunity to buy ingredients amongst other things from AHS since they have the 8 dollar shipping (which is fast as a roadrunner btw)

I know I will stock up on grains :D

Lol awesome, thanks for the confidence boost. Where did you find that he said that? Not to interrogate you lol. Yeah, I live in Houston, Tx, but I used to live in San Marcos, Tx about 20 minutes from Austin. Needless to say, that's where I've been buying stuff for years. I love doing business with them. I'd reccomend them any day. Suprisingly, they have amazing kit beers. Prob the only place I'll buy a kit beer from.

Why don't you call the guy and just ask to ship it with perlicks? Can't add to much to the price. Especially the new Perlicks. They are retailing for about $30.

that's a pretty good idea. that wold be a nice set and save you money also. the upgrade to the perlicks shouldn' be more then say, 15-20 bucks per faucet. maybe just 10, depends how ethical the seller is.

Yeah, well this kind of pissed me off this morning. I sent him an email yesterday, but I didn't expect a reply b/c they're closed on Monday's. So when I wake up this morning, with no e-mail in my inbox except for the item is shipped and here is the tracking #. I'm going to call him and see what's going on.

that really sucks :(

Well, I finally got ahold of the guy and he told me the exact specs on all of the equipment. I have to admit, he sounds really legit and told me if I see ANYTHING I don't like send it back and he will send me a brand new one. I ordered Sunday night at 9:00 pm and he told me to expect my package on Thursday some time. I have 5 gallons of Belgian White waiting to break my new system in.

If this sucks it is about the best suck you could have really. Usually 'sucks' means you have to wait weeks for shipment or something similar. In this case he shipped too soon. Really not a bad suck at all all things considered. Plus with a little concerted effort and some major force carbing you could be enjoying some freshly pulled pints this weekend.

Prost to that. :mug:

Pulling pints this weekend you say huh? How so? Instrustions please! I'm trying to get my girlfriends brother in law into the hobby and we're going to do a brew day this weekend. I would love to pull some pints on Saturday. How do you think I could do this? I was just going to do the set and forget method at about 12 psi. But hell, if I can be pulling some pints this weekend that would be amazing!
